Zones 7 to 9; tender perennial in zone 6, annual in colder zones.
Full sun to part shade, depending on zone. Filtered light is often best, just morning sun is good, and 'Wojo's Gem' may even tolerate almost full shade.
Plants reach 6 to 14 inches tall and 12 to 24 inches wide;
mat-forming groundcover with trailing habit.
Space 8 to 12 inches apart.
A sport of 'Maculata', this trailing variegated vinca has large leaves highlighted by creamy-white centers streaked by deep green edges. Leaves are lance to ovate shaped. Violet-blue, 2-inch spring flowers, with sporadic blooms into autumn.
Best performance in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils. In sunny locations, use more humus and water. Trailing stem nodes root as they quickly spread to form an attractive, dense groundcover. Cut back if it is too large for a container or to increase branching. Fairly drought tolerant, once established.
