Digitalis x mertonensis (15) Quarts
Common Name: strawberry foxglove.
Zone 4 to 8.
Sun to part shade.
Mature foliage height 36 to 48 inches and width 12 to 24 inches, clump forming herbaceous perennial.
Two to three inch long, tubular, funnel-shaped, coppery-rose flowers are closely grouped along each spire. Quick to rebloom if old flowers are cut promptly. A short-lived perennial which self-seeds under favorable growing conditions.
Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil, Digitalis prefers moist, organically rich, acidic soils. Soil must not be allowed to dry out; however, dense crowns may rot in soggy, poorly-drained winter soils.
Good for cut flowers; attractive to hummingbirds, use foxgloves in woodland gardens or naturalized areas. Deer resistant.
