Aster divaricatus 'Eastern Star' (15) Quarts
Common Name: White Wood Aster
Zone: 3 to 8.
Part Sun to shade.
Mature size: 18 to 24 inches tall and spread up to 36 inches. Compact, low maintenance, and very easy to grow semi-evergreen.
In late summer and fall, clusters of small, white, daisy-like flowers appear over green lance-shaped leaves. 3/4-inch wide blooms on deep dark shiny mahogany stems mature to shades of rose and then burgundy.
Plant in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil. Fertile, enriched soil is best, but this adaptable native tolerates salt, sandy or clay soils, and some drought.
Great for borders, ground cover, and cut flowers. Attracts butterflies and deer resistant. |
