Trollius grows best in organic, evenly moist to wet, well-drained soils, even boggy soil. Moisture is especially important in sunny locations. If the foliage begins to look worn after flowering, cut it back hard and wait for the new growth to fill back in. Trollius typically takes a year or two to become established, but well worth the wait. Divide in either early spring or fall, plants may take a year to recover from division.
Trollius is a wonderful addition to any sunny or partially shaded, moist area such as the edges of ponds or streams. Attributes: Bog plant, Border plants, Cut flower. |
