Tanacetum coccineus 'Robinson's Red' (25) plants
Common Name: Painted Daisy; Tanacetum coccineus previously referenced as Chrysanthemum coccineus.
Zone: 3 to 7 (8). Full sun to partial sun. Height: 24 to 36 inches tall, spread 18 to 24 inches. Moderate growth, herbaceous perennial.
Daisy-like, long-lasting, scarlet-red flowers measure 2.5 inches wide with a bright yellow center. Flowers bloom late spring into summer on very sturdy, straight stems that are great in floral arrangements. Tanacetum 'Robinson's Red' has ferny foliage similar to yarrow. Plant it in large groupings for plenty of cut flowers and for greatest landscape impact.
Adaptable to poor or average conditions, Tanacetum prefer rich, moist, and acidic to neutral, well-drained soil. Removing faded flowers will prolong the bloom time. Trim foliage back after first bloom season to help rejuvenate the plant. 'Robinson's Red' can be divided in the spring or in the fall every 2 years to maintain vigor.
