Description
Sedum 'Mr. Goodbud' PP17671 (25) plants
Common name: Stonecrop-Autumn.
Zones 3 to 9.
Full sun.
Plants reach 16 inches tall and 18 to 20 inches wide,
compact, rounded, upright habit.
Growth rate: Moderate, easy to grow.

Large 5 to 6 inch clusters of vibrant purple-pink flowers on purple-red stems top the compact, upright clump of deep blue-green, serrated foliage in late summer. The stems are very strong and relatively short, resisting flopping and remaining standing through winter. A hybrid of S. spectabile 'Brilliant' and an unnamed S. telephium.

Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit 2006

Performs best in full sun in moist, well-drained soils, but it is extremely urban tolerant. Sedum can be grown in highly stressful sites around rockery with thin, poor, or very dry soils, of various pH, low fertility, extreme heat, drought, and high light reflectance; however, it is not tolerant of wet or poorly drained soils. Plants grown in rich soil tend to be lanky and open.

Sedum is one of the most popular perennials grown in American gardens because it is very easy to grow and hardy in most areas of the country. Thick, succulent leaves which can store water, allow established sedum to withstand periods of drought. This plant is not usually bothered by pests or diseases.

Excellent as a border plant, container, cut flower or foliage, dried flower or seed heads, drought tolerant, mass plantings, and salt tolerant. Attracts butterflies, Rabbit resistant.
