Polemonium reptans 'Touch of Class' PP19768 (20)ct Flat
Common name: Jacob's Ladder.
Zone 3 to 7.
Part shade, evergreen in warmer climates.
Plants reach 14 inches tall and 18 inches wide, compact, upright, clump-forming perennial. Growth rate: Moderate, a few self-sown seedlings may appear in the spring.
This beautiful finely textured perennial has delicate lacy foliage that forms a low mound. The compound leaves are green with a narrow, bright white edge. From early to midsummer, a plethora of pink buds open to reveal small, very pale blue flowers. After it is finished blooming, the plant may need to be cut back to allow for a fresh flush of foliage.
Easy to grow, in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. Prefers rich, humus, consistently moist soil. Polemoniums prefer a cool, moist environment with protection from afternoon sun. Foliage may scorch in too much sun. Deadhead to encourage late summer reblooming.
Attributes: Border plants, Cut flower or foliage, Mass plantings, and Specimen or focal point. Deer resistant. This easy-to-grow perennial looks great in the middle to front of the flower border. It pairs superbly with broad leaved perennials such as hostas. |
