Leucanthemum superbum 'Becky' (30)ct Ellepots
A/k/a Becky Shasta Daisy
Zone 4 - 9.
Full sun.
2003 Perennial Plant of the Year.
White rays with yellow center disk, 3 to 4 inch diameter flowers. Mounding plant reaching a height 3 to 4 foot tall. Lengthy bloom period last midsummer into the fall. Thick lustrous dark green foliage, with long, strong stems.
Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil. Tolerates light shade in hot climates. Deadhead to promote additional bloom. Due to its fast growth rate, clumps may need dividing every 2 to 3 years to maintain vigor.
An old favorite of the South, use 'Becky' as a specimen plant, in mixed borders, butterfly gardens, patio gardens, or even in containers. Rigid stems do not require staking. Excellent for cut flowers.
Prized for its durability in the hot, humid summers of the south and its cold tolerance in the north, 'Becky' has proven to be a sturdy, hardy cultivar. |
